Please send your child into school WEARING their PE kit on their PE days (see below).

This is not a non-uniform day - please ensure that your child wears the appropriate clothing for PE as listed below: 

• Plain black / grey joggers, or shorts (depending on the weather)
• Plain white T-Shirt and a plain fleece or hoodie. (NO pictures or logos pls)
• Either trainers or pumps; please make sure that they fit! 
• Remove earrings and jewellery

If you are struggling to afford the correct PE kit, please speak to the office who may be able to help. 

Children who do NOT come to school wearing the appropriate PE kit will have to borrow kit that we have available in school,

This obviously isn't as nice for your child as wearing their own clothes! 

If you have any kit, in good condition, that you no longer need, we would be happy to accept donations to our Spare PE Kit Box!

Earrings and Jewellery update from September 2026

In line with the latest guidance from the Association for Physical Education (afPE), all earrings and jewellery must be completely removed before participating in any PE and sport activity.

Please note the following important requirements:

• Earrings must be removed before coming to school on PE or sports days.

• Covering earrings with tape or plasters is not permitted. Taping earrings does not prevent injury and can create a false sense of safety. Earrings can still cause significant injury if they are caught or impacted during activity.
• School staff are not allowed to remove or replace earrings. Children must be able to remove their own earrings independently.
• Children who are unable to remove their jewellery will be excluded from any potentially hazardous activity, including games, gymnastics, dance, athletics and contact sports.
• Where jewellery cannot be removed, pupils will still be expected to participate in an alternative safe PE activity or related learning task.
• Schools cannot accept parental disclaimers or liability waivers that permit children to wear earrings during PE or sporting activities.

Newly Pierced Ears

If your child has recently had their ears pierced and the studs cannot yet be removed, they will generally be unable to take part in practical PE lessons until the earrings can be safely removed.

If you are considering having your child's ears pierced, we strongly recommend arranging this at the very start of the summer holidays. This allows approximately six weeks for healing before the start of the new academic year and helps avoid disruption to PE, sport and swimming lessons.

Parents' Responsibilities

Please ensure that:

• Any earrings or jewellery are removed at home before your child comes to school on PE or sports days.

• Your child can independently remove and replace their earrings where appropriate.
• Your child understands how to keep their jewellery safe. Please note that school cannot take responsibility for storing jewellery and cannot be held liable for any items that are lost or damaged.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all children. PE and sport form an important part of the National Curriculum and play a vital role in supporting children's health, wellbeing and development. Ensuring that jewellery is removed enables all pupils to participate safely.
