Sculpture Workshop – October 2021
On Thursday 21st October, children in Reception and KS1 had a lovely day exploring Sculpture with the artist Jordanna Farrimond. She had travelled down from Sheffield to work with the children and each class had their own workshop.
Children got the chance to try out different modelling techniques with colourful silk and polymer clay. They looked at how they could roll, stretch, pinch, coil and join pieces to create different types of sea creatures and then add surface decoration – imprinting with some amazing tools and creating texture by layering.It was a fun and exciting day for the children and it has given our teachers lots of ideas for how we can develop this in school over this year.
